Truly stupid shit from fascist bootlickers 💩

"Elon's fans erect 50-foot statue outside his company town"

Some choice passages:

On Thursday, a group of men dressed like extras from Les Misérables erected a giant statue outside Elon Musk’s company town of Starbase, Texas: a 50-foot bronze rendition of the Titan Prometheus. Building a godlike figure in honor of the world’s richest man reportedly cost the sculptors, of the French outfit Atelier Missor, $1 million of their own funds.

and

But the statue—which now hoists its torch into the sky and teeters, plinthless, on the ground—is not on Starbase property. Nor is it made of titanium, as its sculptors initially planned. Instead, it sits by the side of a Texas road about ten miles away.

and

Rewarding their months of desperate posting—and real, actual statue construction—Atelier Missor recieved curt recognition from their idol on October 1st.

“Nice work,” Elon posted.

Isn't it fun to live in the Stupidest Timeline of Earth History?

Ariolimax columbianus hanging out (munching on?) a leaf still attached to its tree down by the creek.

These gastropods are so common in the area that I could get you a new photo of a different slug every day of the week from now until the end of the world. Low-stakes photography for my first media share here 😅

I got the static blog thing to work! Fuck yeah!

I'm sure I'll find more things to change and break and fix as I navigate running this instance, but I think I'm at a place where I can say this is my new fedi home.

Welcome, fam.

Enjoy the photos.

Enjoy the rants.

Enjoy the smut 😈

@alisynthesis@io.waxandleather.com I was putting together a little list of some of my favorite jazz artists for @tootbrute@fedi.arkadi.one when I remembered an extraordinary jazz-hop act that you should check out for something unlike anything you've ever heard (unless you happened to come across this one before):

Ddat

One of the most unique records I've had the pleasure of adding to my eclectic collection of musical treasures 🪎

recommendation list, jazz

@tootbrute@fedi.arkadi.one I think my favorite jazz "album" is the Centennial Trilogy by Chief Adjuah, and I highly recommend a listen 🎺

(Gotta put "album" in quotes because it's actually three: Ruler Rebel, Diaspora, and Emancipation Procrastination)

If you like that ☝️ you should also check out:

  • Shabaka
  • Kamasi Washington
  • Theon Cross
  • Yussef Dayes
  • Aaron Shaw
  • Rebecca Trescher
  • Mary Halvorson
  • Christopher Hoffman
  • Patricia Brenna
  • Tomin
  • Nubya Garcia
  • Amaro Freitas
  • Ezra Collective
  • Sun Ra Arkestra
  • Kokoroko
  • Makaya McCraven
  • Pokaz Trio

I could keep going, but maybe I shouldn't 😅

A small white crab spider camouflaged among the petals of a white wild cherry flower. The spider is positioned on one of the lower hanging blooms, nearly blending in with the white petals. A small black insect (possibly a fly or bee) is visible nearby on the flower. Green leaves and additional blossoms surround the scene with a soft, out-of-focus grassy background.

A clear, shallow river curves through a forested landscape under a bright blue sky. The water reveals smooth stones and pebbles beneath its surface. Gravel banks line the river’s edge, flanked by tall evergreens and leafy deciduous trees in fresh spring green.

A square-cropped close-up of a mossy fallen log extending diagonally from the bottom left corner into a shallow creek. The tight framing emphasizes the texture of the bark and the clarity of the water below, creating an immersive perspective.

A wider, landscape-oriented version of the same scene. This crop includes more of the surrounding forest canopy and riverbanks, placing the fallen log within the broader context of the lush green woodland environment.

I like both versions of this scene from the creek out back, but the crop of a photo can really change the feel of a scene, yeah? I typically like wider crops more, but square crops tend to work better for small screens because you don't have to ask your audience to rotate orientation for proper viewing 😅

Okay, shit, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention some of the best Indigenous hip hop artists out there:

Not exhaustive, just exhausted.

I might remember more later.

blog, list of hip hop favorites

A Trilogy of Hip Hop Trilogies

Fantastic list, that, all fire 🔥

Now, if you wanna know my favorite hip hop records of all time:

RVLTN

Bobby Sessions joins the giants of hip hop with this one.

Sad, Fat Luck

In Ceschi I find a kindred spirit, an intimately familiar angst.

I know it's already a bit of a stretch to call this one a trilogy, so you'll have to forgive me when I add that if you want the full experience you should add This Guitar Was Stolen Along With Years of Our Lives between Sans Soleil and Bring Us the Head of Francisco False.

A Pragmatist's Guide to Revolution

To the best of my knowledge, Guante has never called this a trilogy; but these records fit together like they were made to go together, so it's a trilogy to me.

Honorable Mentions

It's very difficult for me to limit myself 😅

38th & Chicago Ave

'Nuff said.

Worlds Not Yet Gone

Sole's concept album, a sci-fi tale of our near future told by the Poet of the Void, is one of those stories that will stick with me until the day I die, you know? Masterful storytelling. Haunting. I always need the instrumentals at the end to reflect.

@alisynthesis@io.waxandleather.com @dodecahedron@fwoof.space hip hop records I enjoyed immensely in recent months, in no particular order:

I can't say that all of these ☝️ artists are young or that they would all call what they do conscious hip hop—OME describes his music as art rap—but all are recent(ish) albums that may be what you're looking for or might lead you to it.

@alisynthesis@io.waxandleather.com I saw in the comments that you found and enjoyed Sa-Roc (who is, indeed, awesome). The seasoned emcee makes an appearance on VOICE OF THE REVOLUTION, and it's so good to hear her supporting the kids.

LP's Room 12 is indie folk-pop excellence 👌

Not on Bandcamp, unfortunately, and I'm trying to get away from YouTube links, but you can stream this one on the major streaming platforms—or do as I did and just buy the thing.

Highly recommended 👍👍

Cyanocitta stelleri like to cut off bunches of Sambucus racemosa to eat the berries in private. Not all of them are great at picking ripe bunches 😅

For any business out there, big or small:

I'll be your company's CEO and do the work of coordinating the people who do the actual work that makes your company a thing for a salary equivalent to the salary of your lowest paid employee.

You read that right.

I'll be so chiefy and very executive, and I'll be happy that everyone else gets paid the same as or more than me.

Give your current CEO the chop and see why I'm rated as the Chiefiest and Most Executive by Very Serious People.

Unlimited time offer.

Now testing a #littleFedi post scheduled 24+ hours ago with more magnificent Acer macrophyllum. I will never cease to be amazed by these organisms and their (many) symbiotes.

Deer gods 🦌🙏 I love these temperate rainforests 💚
