Rewatching Stranger Things with my partner, who is watching for the first time, and we've come to Season 4. Kate Bush wrote a great song with "Running Up That Hill," no argument from me there; but her original suffers from the same affliction that plagues most pop culture from the '80s. From fashion to music, there's just something about the aesthetics of the '80s that I find difficult to take seriously.
All of that ☝️ to say that I prefer Placebo's cover of the song.
(Note that all of this is my opinion and preference—I make no claim to objectivity here, and I won't judge anyone on the basis that they prefer Bush's version of the song or that they love '80s pop culture.)
